Dear Friends... If you have ever thought of visiting MN, this is not the week to come!! We are experiencing a windchill of between 20-50 below zero for the next 3 days! The radio announcer just said there is no temperature today... it will not even get above zero. This is a good day to stay indoors and go shopping on the Bonnie Mohr Studio website!! Have fun!!
AROUND THE STUDIO... Just posted is one of the new originals I've just completed. This was a super fun little piece, and even though I'm not the hugest snow-fan, I love painting it. This new original will be posted soon on the 'Originals for Sale' page, and will pop up later this year as a new print and Christmas Card for 09. Today I will put the final touches on a new cow painting called 'Silent Night'. I love this painting. If you can call this cow pretty - well she certainly is - check next week's blog to see this new piece. Other excitement: I got a call this week from KSTP Channel 5, TWIN CITIES LIVE program in Minneapolis,... they want me on the show next week as one of their guests!! I'm a little nervous, but I think I'm up for the challenge and it should be a pretty cool experience. We will try to link it next week!
COW TALES AND FARM NEWS... everyone outside is COLD. The cows are cold, the cats are cold, the dog is cold, and John and the kids are cold too!! Dairy farming is certainly one of those occupations that you have to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE in order to be out there in all these adverse conditions. I'm sure 'hot chocolate' was developed somewhere many year's ago in MN just to keep people from freezing up. No other big news other than... we still can't figure out if Stella is PG or not?? She is due about now - she is acting PG, but doesn't look it. (By the way, for those who don't know, Stella is our Yellow Lab) Stay tuned...
FAMILY MATTERS... In between chores and painting, we are in a gym most weekends, watching the kids compete!! The boys had an awesome weekend of wrestling, they both captured a couple of 1st places and one 2nd (in overtime!!) Pictured is Jacob, Zachary and their wrestling buddy Tanner - holding the trophy. Taylor is growing into a wonderful gymnast. At the Winona meet this weekend, she took 1st of 28 girls in her division! It's great to see their skills develop and watch them grow into strong little people. Other than that, we are doing the usual stuff around here, just like you - washing clothes, matching those darn socks, cooking up hot soup to stay warm, playing cards and shooting pool in the evenings! Stay warm - have a great week everyone! Thanks for reading...
