PEEK AT A PAINTING
This is an especially great morning...the sun is shining! We have had weeks of rain, with very little sunshine. There are virtually no crops in the ground yet, and we are begging for warm temps. Despite the weather, spring is rushing along. The kids are counting down the last weeks of school, my college girl has her last final today, and the tulips (although not premium this year), have managed to make an appearance - yeah!
One thing this rainy weather has been good for, is that it's easy to be indoors and PAINT! I'm working long steady days to stay ahead of my (already behind schedule) revised timeline to complete 16 paintings for this new children's book - scheduled to be out later this fall. Although these compositions involve a lot of new painting material and challenges, it is exhilarating to see new things on my canvas. Today's image is a sneak peek at one of the paintings I've just completed.
And - let's not forget national BBQ month!! A perfect time to put on an apron on the favorite man in your life and send him to the grill. Most men just seem to have a knack for grilling - and they do it well. I love to grill Kabobs, they are easy to customize to everyones taste preference and with a family of seven that is important! You can add different vegetables, meats, or even mix it up and add some pineapple! Here is a recipe to get you inspired, one of my personal favorites is this spicy chicken kbabob recipe with a bang! Check it out here! For more of my favorite recipes be sure to follow me on Pinterest!
Lastly, I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! I'm still thinking of this special day, and leave you with this message from Henry Ward Beecher: "When God thought of mother he must have laughed with satisfaction and framed it quickly -- so rich, so deep, so divine, so full of soul, power, and beauty, was the conception."
