Busy, busy!!
The colors of fall, the aroma of harvest, and the beautiful Autumn atmosphere of the country truly make this the best time of the year!! Take your family for a drive in the country this weekend, and don't forget to pack a picnic lunch! This is without doubt my favorite time of the year!!
AROUND THE STUDIO... Busy is the buzzword around here!! We are only 2 days away from departing for World Dairy Expo, Madison, WI. This is my biggest show of the year, and requires two solid weeks of packing,... Thank you to Diane, Lana, Karen and Carolyn for all they have done to help get ready for this show!! They are a testimony that an artist is only as good as the staff beside her, and I am blessed with a wonderful group!! The last two days for myself have been spent back and from to Minneapolis, as I have been on press, printing all the new art that will be available starting next week. Here is a peek at 'A SINGLE PEAR'. I decided to try an added border and an interesting font to jazz this little pear up! It will be available as a canvas giclee, 8"x10" mini print, and notecard. I should have all the other new things posted on the website within a week or two - plus, you can get the scoop on our upcoming Open House Schedule! COW TALES AND FARM NEWS... Hay to unload, corn to chop and trees to plant!! Guess John will have to skip his soaps this week! Ha! We have had gorgeous Autumn days and even some timely moisture again. He finished up 4th crop hay a couple of days ago, and is at chopping now... a decent crop this year - we'll take it. More new baby calves arriving each day, this is our biggest calving season. The cows are loving cooler temps and finally getting onto pasture (John didn't turn them out there until he'd made 3 crops hay on it). And then there are the trees!! We participated in a tree auction a Saturday ago, and are now the lucky owners of 40 trees! These will need to be planted soon, and hopefully will! We plan to add a bunch of them to the pasture and a few for around the barn and house.
FAMILY MATTERS... I am now an official 'FOOTBALL MOM'. Yes, Jacob has played three games already. Loves it - plays hard - still has lots to learn! Oldest daughter Amanda is in the top 5 candidates for Homecoming Royalty - Coronation is next Monday night. Should be a fun time. GSL Football team is having another good year. The kids are busy helping with everything on the farm, and lots of homework. Four are scheduled for the Orthodontist today - please support Bonnie Mohr Studio to help this worthy cause!!
