The Red and White dairy cow became an officially recognized breed in 1964, making them a relatively young breed compared to others. Red and White’s are closely related to Holsteins. Their red coloration is due to the expression of the recessive “red” gene, coming from both sire and dam. They are high milk producers and sport beautiful patterns of deep red and bright white — a favorite among breeders and dairy show fans for their distinctive and flashy look.
