The Printing World!

Monday of this week was the pinnacle day of the past 10 months of my work load.  John and I were off to the printers for my new book ONCE THERE WERE NO COWS!  It was a rather relaxing and exciting day - for this leg of the journey, all I had to do was show up and make sure I could see 'color' well that day.  Stepping into the printing world, is mind boggling.  My printer specializes in books, and so I was able to see each department and each specific area of the book building process.  It reminded me of a gigantic ant hill, everyone was busy doing exactly what they were supposed to, and at the end of the day, there were pallets of books everywhere.

The entire day was a bit surreal and the things I felt were comparable to your wedding day or delivering a baby after 9 months of being pregnant.  These big events in life are monumental.  You prepare, you work hard, you labor, and then in one day - the grand event happens...just as naturally as it is suppose too, and yet, at the end of the day you can hardly believe it happened.  Calling myself an author feels as awkward as the first time I called myself an artist, almost 30 years ago now.   Titles scare me, as they usually come attached with expectations from others....sometimes a person worries if they are really qualified to have a title (at least I do ; )  That all being said - I couldn't be happier and more excited to share this new book with you, your families, your grandchildren and anyone in the world that you think would like a book about why God created the cow!

ONCE THERE WERE NO COWS should be in binding by the end of this week, and my shipment of books is expected to arrive here in about 10 days.  I will be busy signing and numbering books (there will be 1,000 S/N copies) loading them, and heading to World Dairy Expo.  You can go online NOW, however... we are taking preorders and are offering two specials! Today I am off to the printers in Minneapolis for printing of the eight selected images from within the book that we will be selling in conjunction with the book (as well as separately).   Thank you for sharing in this journey with me - and thank you for all the kind and wonderful comments you've posted and shared on Facebook.   How lucky am I to paint for such a wonderful audience....THANK YOU!

and thanks for reading...
