THE HEAT IS ON......

MN is on fire!  Well, not really, but with heat indexes in the 110-120 degree range - it certainly feels like it.  Sitting in my AC studio painting is most appreciated during these extreme hot days, as I know first hand the feat all 'outdoor' workers are facing -not to mention the poor animals.  The crops are growing like crazy though, so that is a blessing considering the late spring we had. A peak at the painting....... for now - just a peak! My work is normally a 'calm yet stimulating' effort - not so much with this new task!  I am painting for the first time...water, in looser style, and large (a 30x40 canvas).  I sit down to work each day with butterflies in my stomach - hoping to create the perfect strokes that will lead to the realization of the vision I have in my head.  You know you are really 'into' your work though, when you lose all track of time.  Due to a very broken up, full of interruptions kind of day, I sat down last evening at 8:30 pm to paint.  A few blinks later, I realized how quiet the house was, how calm the world around me had become. It was 12:30am.  At this point, I realized how tired I was, and lacked any confidence that what I was painting would be pleasing to me this morning.  The good news...it's not too bad.  So back to work. For those of you who have been inquiring - I do plan to get on press in the next month or so with a reprinting of Christmas Cards, so please check our online inventory around the middle of September for the updated selection.  Thanks much! Thanks for reading....I wish you a 'kite in the sky' sort of day! Bonnie
