Something in the air

There is something in the air this time of year, that I don't notice during any other month... it is a state of euphoria. Which is what?... Joy, extreme happiness, excitement, exhilaration, jubilation! It is something that comes from your heart, deep inside. How does it happen? I believe it comes from putting money into the red buckets of the bell ringers at the Mall baking cookies for the shut-ins or those in treatment centers doing something special for other people who have less donating to the Food Shelf buying a present for Toys for Tots or maybe just inviting a lonely neighbor to your house for tea and cookies! I believe the real joy of this season is experienced in giving rather than receiving. I would invite you to step out of norm - the business of your daily routine, and use your time, talent or treasure to make a difference in the life of someone who has little. Experience the real joy of this season, not by overspending or overeating, but by giving or sharing what you have with others. I think this is real life stuff that creates a state of euphoria during this special time of the year!! Good Luck!!
AROUND THE STUDIO... things are hoppin! My staff is answering the phones, shipping your orders and trying to keep everyone happy! Thanks girls - I have the best staff around! The commissioned painting which I recently finished is at the printer for the client now, which is Lextron Corporation. This was a fun piece to do! I've now moved on to a private cow commission for another client - it is a Christmas gift for their spouse - so lets just say, there will be some long days and even longer nights ahead in order for Santa to have this one under the tree on Christmas morning!! For those who attended our last Open House - here is the recipe you all asked for. Yes, these are probably the SIMPLEST, BEST, BAR RECIPE IN THE WORLD!. Enjoy!!
CREAM CHEESE CRESCENT ROLLS
  • 2 pkg. crescent rolls
  • 2 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Cinnamon Sugar
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In an ungreased 9 × 13 pan, roll out 1 package crescent rolls flat. Whip cream cheese, the egg yolk, sugar and vanilla. Spread over the crescent rolls. Layer the other package crescent rolls over that. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly brown. Refrigerate and cut when they are cool.
AROUND THE FARM... the crops are in, the cattle are regrouped and bedded down for the winter, and the first snow arrived this week! Winter is officially here!!
FAMILY MATTERS... First trimester wrapped up yesterday so the kids are off school today! I will have them decorate the Christmas tree, and help me get ready for the Customer Christmas Party at our Studio tomorrow! (Keep them busy - less trouble that way :) Katelyn was part of a beautiful concert last week at school. I love these concerts - it is pure relaxation to sit amongst other proud parents and listen to the talent of these young people! Great job Kate. Amanda will wrap up Fall Semester in two weeks at college, the boys have started wrestling practice, and Taylor has her first Gymnastics meet this Sunday! Wishing you Holiday 'Euphoria' today and everyday of the year... Thanks for reading!
