Life is good - and BUSY!

Busy painting!

It is hard to sit inside on such a lovely, sunny, 70-degree, picture-perfect day, and paint.  But the time draws near - that is my deadline for the two paintings I am working on for the National Holstein Association.  They are of the new true type model cow and bull for their association.  As I have mentioned before, it is like a Ms. America contest, but for cows!  These two paintings measure 36" x 48" each, and I feel like they are chasing me right now.  My due date is the end of this month and I have a fair amount of work to get done yet....so that means not much playtime for me ;) Life is good though - and I am happy to report that the corn is planted and  first crop hay is going up as I write this. I had a wonderful Mother's Day (even got to go to the DQ!), and we attended our oldest daughter's graduation from college on Monday.  (I had her when I was just 12 - so I'm relatively young yet - ha ha)  Seriously though - didn't think this type of event in my life would come so soon! Speaking of Mother's Day -  our family participated in the 'Mileka Run/Walk' that day.  What a wonderful event, in celebration of dear 9-year-old Mileka, who passed away one year ago on Mother's Day.  In our small community of Silver Lake, over 700 people registered and participated.  A testimony to good people doing good things in memory of a wonderful little girl and family who live in our community.  It was a blessing and joy to share in this 1 mile and 5K event.....I was going to run the 5K - but didn't want to show off - got a great walking time though!  Oh yes...and I was the balloon chairman - aren't they spectacular!
 Well - back to work...
thanks for reading......
