August Activities!
It was a perfect weekend to 'take a break' and enjoy summer! We loaded our family, Marshall, MN bound and headed off to a wedding! My Social Media Manager, Shay Birath and her Fiancé Jeff Vandendriessche were getting married !! Not only was Shay one of the most beautiful brides that ever walked down the aisle, but their families were warm and welcoming and the weather was nothing less than a 'perfect day to be married'! Not to honk my horn, but.......our gift for this lovely couple was none other than a personalized framed I DO print!! Although I didn't catch them on their wedding day in full dress to get a picture - here is a peak at the morning after 'gift opening'! Shay, we wish you and Jeff a lifetime of love and happiness. (Funny what a person thinks about at weddings....one of my thoughts was, can you imagine being in Kindergarten and having to spell this last name! LOL....I'm sure they will just Google it if they can't remember!
August is a month of hustle around our place! Square bales need to be hauled home from the fields, football camp for the boys, county fair, painting - lots of painting, pre-World Dairy Expo preparations, and making salsa! My garden is exploding with tomatoes this year ; ) Take a look:
Our first effort yielded 50 Quarts! Not bad for our first picking - plus I learned a new canning tip this year: preheat your oven to 350 and load your filled and sealed salsa jars into this hot oven and then shut it off and walk away. Presto - sealed and you don't have to fuss with 'time consuming' hot water baths! I love this new trick - give it a try!!
Today I will begin the 3rd of 4 new paintings for Christmas Card designs for this holiday season!! All new images will debut in September along with ordering information. Thank you for the calls, emails and interest on the new paintings you saw in last week's blog.....I am working as fast as I can to get a printing and production schedule figured out.....if there weren't so many tomatoes I would be done by now....!
