Dear Friends - Merry Christmas!  We are so busy shoveling, moving and pushing snow here in MN, there is hardly time to write a blog!!  No kidding.  The banks are high, the drifts are deep.  We have already received as much snow to date, as we normally get in an entire winter.  So, enough bragging about all our snow…. Life around Bonnie Mohr Studio is starting to relax this week, with Christmas only a day away now.  I hope you are all... Read More

CAN YOU TOP THIS? It’s Sunday afternoon, and I shouldn’t be working, but I am, because of a deadline hovering over my head.  After an abrupt interruption from the main floor (my studio is on the 2nd floor), I am back upstairs and will return to painting as soon as I finish this blog.  There came from downstairs, a very loud racket of clanking and banging.  I flew down the stairs sure the boys were either duking it out in the living... I removed the last pumpkins from the yard today….there is a chill in the air, and I feel the change of seasons coming on fast. Turning the clock’s back last night, sealed the deal. When I look outside at 5 p.m. and it is almost dark, there is no mistaking that winter will be here soon! Everyone at Bonnie Mohr Studio is busy adding final touches to the shop! We have decorated inside and out, and you can feel the holiday spirit all... Read More

I feel numb and tired as I type this….my goal is to not fall asleep as I do this blog and smash my face into the keyboard in front of me.  This is one of those Monday mornings, I’d rather still be in bed sleeping!  Last week proved to be one of the craziest ever, again!  Let me just start off with the highlight ….it was a monumental weekend of togetherness, family reunion, and celebration of my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary!  In our... I’m starting to believe, there is no more beautiful color than orange!  It’s funny that this is the one color I hated as a child.  Maybe it’s the time of year, but my heart delights in this fabulous earthy hue.  From pumpkins and  leaves to bittersweet…it is my ‘pick’ without doubt.  Not surprising then, I suppose, I have some awesome ideas for a couple of ‘autumn – pumpkin’ paintings….just as soon as I finish the assignment paintings... I have a some catching up to do!  First, I extend heartfelt wishes to all of you, that in the business of life you have been able to get outdoors and saturate yourself into the beauty of our autumn world.  The colors adorn the countryside like rich jewels in a spot light.  Our region of the country has been blessed with 10... The leaves are turning, the harvest is engaged, and my staff is packing the trailer….this can mean only one thing….no actually two things: 1. It is my favorite time of the year 2. We are getting ready for World Dairy Expo. Wow, is it possible that September is in full swing - already? I’m amazingly surprised, and yes it is! My sincere apology that the weeks have again slipped by since my last blog. What is my problem anyway…it just... Read More

Embracing August!  I would have to admit that this month is filled with more ‘hustle and bustle’ around our place than December!  This week is our county fair.  Our yard looks like a parade of sorts with each kid leading their animal in a different direction, cattle trotting to and from the ‘wash rack’, tractors and wagons delivering loads of hay and straw, and my own employees racing around the studio to pack for State Fair.  And just...   The duties of August fill our lives!  This is the month of the year that implores our time and attention for the many events that we have been preparing for since May!  The garden, the crops, and the fair take center stage around our place.  We spent the weekend picking tomatoes, cucumbers, and yes more green beans! Some of the cucumbers were sliced and diced and already eaten, while other were packed into jars and are transforming... Read More

Steamy and Hot! These are the DAYS OF OUR LIVES here in Minnesota! Record temps and high humidity have the corn growing like crazy, the pools are filled of kids, and everyone is getting a wonderful dose of summer! The months are passing me by like I was standing still. August is now on the calendar and there are still ‘mountains to be moved’ before the MN State Fair and the start of school. So, I guess I better type faster, paint... Read More
